Green Tea Lemonade with Cucumber and Mint

Ingredients

2 cups hibiscus leaves

10 cups of water

1 medium-sized ripened pineapple

2 tsps pineapple syrup (optional)

1/2 cup sugar

2-3 large thumbs of ginger (1/3 cup of peeled)

3 grains of Hwentia/Grain of Selim
Instructions
Step 1
Thoroughly rinse the hibiscus leaves, ginger, and pineapple.
Step 2
Peel and slice the ginger into smaller pieces to help release flavor while cooking.
Step 3
Cut the pineapple into chunks.
You may leave some skin on for additional flavor if well cleaned.
Step 4
In a large pot, add:

Hibiscus leaves

Pineapple chunks

Ginger
-
Grains of Selim
Step 5
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
Step 6
Once boiling, reduce heat and allow the tea to simmer for 25–35 minutes
until the flavors deepen and the liquid becomes a rich red color.
Step 7
Remove from heat and carefully strain the tea into a large bowl or pitcher to remove the solids.

Stir in:

Pineapple syrup (if using)

Allow the tea to cool completely, then refrigerate until chilled.
